Abstract We propose a spatial communication method between a user and a virtual agent that provide an illusion as if it has a physical presence. In this system, real-time 3DCG agent has been drawn with changing a viewpoint in a virtual space corresponding to the user's viewpoint detected by face-tracking. The face-tracking can perform this interaction as same as a robot in the real world. We conducted a preliminary experiment to verify whether our proposed method was effectively producing spacial interaction between human and virtual agent. The result shows the easiness to talk to the agent have been increased when the agent made eye-contact with the user.
