アブストラクト In this research,we develop a system based on ACT-R (Adaptive Control of Thought-Rational; Anderson,2007) cognitive architecture to prevent repetitive negative thinking,namely rumination during web searching. The system consists of two sub-systems. First,data collection sub-system collects individual’s searching data on websites through Chrome extension. Second,distraction sub-system uses the ACT-R model utilizing such data including physiological data from subjects to predict rumination and provides an implicit intervention for rumination based on a concept of “nudge” (Thaler & Sunstein,2009). The system displays image on the screen as advertisement,and it changes to nudge users to stop ruminating.
