Abstract | This system provides educational training for users who interface with it using a facial expression recognition system that employs brain wave measuring equipment, a speech recognition system, a speech synthesis system and a dialogue system. A character agent uses seven kinds of facial expression, such as "smile", "laugh", "angry", "sadness", "disgust", "fright", "surprise", and mouth shapes of the vowels. The facial expressions are given fluid movement by using morphing technology. Dialogues are presented using AIML (artificial intelligence markup language), a speech synthesis system and a speech recognition system. The system also uses a facial expression recognition system with myogenic potential via brain wave measuring equipment. The system provides educational training for users in communication using these functions. |
