Welcome to HAI 2024

The Twelfth International Conference on Human-Agent Interaction (HAI 2024) aims to be the premier interdisciplinary venue for discussing and disseminating state-of-the-art research and results that have implications across conventional interaction boundaries including robots, software agents and digitally-mediated human-human communication. HAI will gather researchers from fields spanning engineering, computer science, psychology and sociology, and will cover diverse topics, including: human-robot interaction, affective computing, computer-supported collaborative work, gaming and serious games, artificial intelligence, and more.

The theme for HAI 2024 will be “hybrid society”. Today, intelligent agents play a significant part in our daily interaction with technology. AI-enabled chatbots or smartphone assistants are omnipresent and shape how we gather and interpret information. Some other agents like assistive and companion robots are gaining importance and our community paves the way towards making them play an even bigger role in our everyday lives. The resulting blending of machine and human intelligence implies that we already arrived in a hybrid society where humans are strongly interdependent with interactive technology. It is therefore pivotal that our community discovers potential in reciprocity, explores innovative and acceptable ways to interact with this technology, and discusses the ethical consequences of having agents surrounding us in our lives. While all submissions related to human-agent interaction are welcome, you are especially encouraged to submit papers in line with the theme for HAI 2024.

The 12th edition of the Human Agent Interaction Conference will take place in Swansea University, UK from the 24th – 27th of November 2024
